Privacy
This registry exists so a deputy can return stray livestock to its owner. Everything below follows from that, and nothing here is used for any other purpose.
What we hold
- Your name, phone number, email address and mailing address.
- Where the animals are kept, including a landmark if you gave one.
- A description of each animal, any identifiers, and photographs you upload.
- Your brand details, if you entered them.
Who can see it
Nothing you enter is published. There is no public directory of registrations and no way for a member of the public to browse or search them. Your contact details and premises address areencryptedin our database and are read by Sheriff's Office staff working an estray.
Registrations are shared with the Sheriff's Office case system over an authenticated, encrypted connection so that a deputy in the field can match a found animal to its owner.
How long we keep it
Your registration stays until you remove it or a livestock officer does. Nothing expires on its own — an animal registered five years ago is still the same animal. You can remove a registration at any time from Manage my registration .
When a registration is removed we keep a record that it existed and when it was removed, so that the case system can delete its own copy. The details themselves stop being used.
